Los nombres de la metafísica: el nombre absoluto

Abstract

La temática que examina este artículo es, en principio, sencilla, a saber, lo absoluto como principio de unidad y nombre característico del pensamiento de Hegel. Sin embargo, ¿qué nombra la palabra absoluto? Las más de las veces absoluto ni siquiera es, en rigor, un nombre propio, sino un adjetivo con el que Hegel dota algunos conceptos con una suerte de especificidad e importancia señaladas. La complejidad que hay en este nombre, así como sus diversos sentidos e, igualmente, las posibilidades que trae consigo el reconocimiento de lo absoluto a lo largo de la historia de la filosofía son los aspectos por analizar en las siguientes páginas con el objetivo de abrirse paso en el asunto.

The subject which this paper studies is, at first, simple, namely, the absolute as principle of unity and as a characteristic name of Hegel’s thinking. Nonetheless, what does the word absolute name? In most cases absolute is not even, strictly speaking, a proper noun, but an adjective by means of which Hegel endows a few concepts with a distinguished specificity and importance of sorts. The complexity at the bottom of this name, as well as its several senses and, likewise, the possibilities that entails the acknowledgement of the absolute throughout philosophy’s history are the topics to analyze in the following pages, in order to break through the issue.
