Mujeres zapatistas: un panorama general sobre su participación en el EZLN

Abstract

La lucha de las mujeres en el movimiento zapatista ha logrado un efecto positivo en cuanto a equidad de género y el papel social que juega con otras comunidades indígenas. Por la Ley Revolucionaria de Mujeres se han alcanzado derechos para gozar de las libertades que antes no podían ejercer. Esto marcó un punto importante en la historia de las mujeres rurales en Chiapas, México, pues rompió con un esquema tradicional de siglos. Este artículo da una visión de los logros alcanzados por parte de las zapatistas al participar en la organización del EZLN, hasta su papel en la actualidad.

The struggle of women in the Zapatista movement has achieved a positive eff ect over the theme about gender equality and the role they play in society, at the same time with other indigenous communities, so thanks to the Revolutionary Law for Women they have obtained their rights to enjoy freedoms that they could not exercise before. Th is fact has changed an important point in the history of rural women in Chiapas, Mexico, breaking a traditional scheme of centuries. Th e next article intends to give an overview about the achievements of Zapatista members since their appearance in the EZLN to their current role.
