El estrés y la ciudad

Abstract

Estrés, contaminación, hacinamiento y muchos otros términos, son conceptos que se utilizan cotidianamente. Sin embargo, para todo especialista es necesario definirlos y ubicarlos con precisión en el contexto ambiental que se investiga. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal desarrollar un punto de vista sobre el estrés, analizar su impacto en las grandes urbes y en especial en la ciudad de México. Las conclusiones a las que se llegó, sugieren considerar conjuntos interactuantes de variables y no hechos aislados, así como utilizar el aspecto diferencial de los sistemas estudiados y la distinción de las características culturales de cada región.Stress, pollution, overcrowding: these and many other terms are concepts that are used daily. It is, however, necessary that specialists define them precisely and locate them in the environmental context that is being investigated. The main objective of this work is to develop a view point on stress and analyse its impact in large urban centres and especially en Mexico City. The conclusions that have been derived suggest that sets of interacting variables rather than isolated facts should be considered in addition to using the differential aspect of the systems studied and the distinctiveness of the cultural characteristics of each region.
