Adolescentes inmigrantes, retos y oportunidades en el Sistema Educativo Peruano

Abstract

La migración interna en el Perú, desde el campo a la ciudad a partir de mediados del siglo pasado, es el contexto de esta investigación que analiza la vivencia de los valores de origen y acogida, relaciones parento-filiales, actitudes discriminatorias, retos y oportunidades en el sistema educativo peruano. El estudio es cualitativo, etnometodológico, sincrónico y se realiza con quince adolescentes inmigrantes a Lima, procedentes de los departamentos de la sierra: Abancay, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco y Puno. El conjunto de instrumentos que se aplican a los adolescentes inmigrantes son una guía de observación, guion para la entrevista semiestructurada y una guía de entrevista para grupos focales. Los resultados indicaron que los adolescentes se mantenían en el sistema de educación pública, existió predominancia de sus valores origen, mantuvieron relaciones parento-filiales vía teléfono, fueron víctimas de actitudes discriminatorias por sus docentes y compañeros, se vieron confrontados a responder a las altas expectativas de sus familiares y de sus comunidades de origen y en la ciudad de acogida tuvieron pocas oportunidades debido a su condición de albergados. Se recomienda que las próximas investigaciones se aborde el tema de la afirmación de la identidad sexual en adolescentes inmigrantes la que resultó ser un tema emergente en la presente investigación. / Internal migration in Peru, from the countryside to the city since the middle of the last century, is the context of this research that analyzes the experience of the values of origin and acceptance, parento-filial relationships, discriminatory attitudes, challenges and opportunities in the Peruvian educational system. The study is qualitative, ethnomethodological, synchronous and is carried out with fifteen adolescent immigrants to Lima, from the departments of the mountains: Abancay, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco and Puno. The set of instruments that apply to immigrant adolescents are an observation guide, a script for the semi-structured interview and an interview guide for focus groups. The results indicated that adolescents remained in the public education system, there was predominance of their origin values, they maintained parental-filial relationships via telephone, they were victims of discriminatory attitudes by their teachers and peers, they were confronted to respond to high expectations of their relatives and their communities of origin and in the host city had few opportunities due to their status as shelters. It is recommended that future research address the issue of affirming sexual identity in immigrant adolescents, which turned out to be an emerging theme in the present investigation.
